5 Steps to Wellbeing

Start in Salford creative arts and well-being centre promotes emotional well-being and recovery by providing creative arts-based activities and training opportunities for people who are, or may be at risk of experiencing mental health difficulties or social exclusion. You may watch the film by clicking here.

This film highlights the inspirational journeys of some of Start in Salford’s mental health service users following their intervention at the charity, and looks at the ‘5 Steps’ everyone can take to improve their well-being. You can find more information about Start at their website here, http://www.startinsalford.org.uk.

I’m very proud of this especially as I heard that at the Premiere of it there wasn’t a dry eye in the house. All of the contributors were wonderful and open and I can’t recommend Start in Salford and the staff and volunteers there, enough.

The launch event which was held at the Salford University Building Media City UK was a huge success with attendees including Coronation Street stars Jennie McAlpine and Nigel Pivaro.

Michelle Dennett of Start in Salford said: “The film is a wonderful way of celebrating the achievement of some of our members and gaining support for our charity. The film is a high quality piece which we are hoping will get people talking about mental health, and the things everyone can do to help themselves who may be suffering at the moment.”
